Details / Information  Overview:

The site was the religious center of the cities in south-west Crete. It flourished during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. In 1957-58 the Asklepieion was excavated by N. Platon.

The most important monuments are considered:
– The temple of Asklepios, Hellenistic – Roman periods.
– Part of Roman theater.
– Rock-cut and built chamber tombs.
